A boutique hospitality brand is seeking a General Manager to lead the opening of its second location in SoHo, an intimate, 40-seat concept centered around a curated wine program and a refined sushi component with modern Japanese dishes. This role is ideal for a wine-driven operator, either a current General Manager or a Wine Director with strong management experience, who is passionate about independent producers, boutique wine programs, and delivering a highly personalized guest experience. Some exposure to sake is preferred.
The General Manager will oversee both the wine program and full restaurant operations, partnering directly with ownership to execute the opening, build the team, and drive long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful opening and ongoing operations of a 40-seat restaurant in SoHo
- Oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring an elevated, high-touch guest experience
- Develop, manage, and evolve a wine program focused on independent producers and thoughtfully sourced wines
- Oversee wine purchasing, inventory, pricing, and team education; support a growing sake program
- Hire, train, and develop a small, service-driven front-of-house team
- Maintain a strong presence on the floor, building guest relationships and driving repeat business
- Establish and uphold service standards, systems, and operational procedures
- Manage labor, COGS, scheduling, and overall financial performance
- Partner directly with ownership on strategy, reporting, and business performance
