About the Role:

A new elevated pizza restaurant in Philadelphia is seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef with deep expertise in pizza making. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in crafting exceptional pies, thrives in a high-energy kitchen, and is excited to be part of a growing hospitality group with a strong culinary vision.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, with a primary focus on pizza prep and execution.
  • Prepare a variety of doughs, sauces, and toppings using traditional and contemporary techniques.
  • Operate and maintain wood-fired or high-heat pizza ovens to consistently deliver high-quality pies.
  • Collaborate on seasonal menu development, specials, and sourcing top-tier ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Train and mentor line cooks and junior staff, especially in pizza techniques and station execution.
  • Monitor prep, inventory, and ordering specific to the pizza program.
  • Lead the kitchen team in the Executive Chef’s absence.


What We’re Looking For:

  • 2–4 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Pizza Chef in a quality-driven, high-volume kitchen.
  • Expert-level skills in pizza dough fermentation, stretching, and firing techniques.
  • Strong understanding of ingredient seasonality and flavor pairings.
  • Experience operating high-temp ovens (wood-fired or gas deck ovens preferred).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen environment.
  • Positive attitude, strong leadership skills, and attention to detail.
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification preferred.
