As the brand expands into the New York City market, we are seeking an Area Training Manager who can develop, coach, and support high-performing teams that consistently deliver an exceptional guest experience.
Description
The Area Training Manager is responsible for developing the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of the restaurant workforce across the New York City market. This individual will design, implement, and lead training programs while supporting a culture of accountability, growth, and operational excellence.
This role oversees training execution for team members and managers, manages training systems and documentation, and partners closely with Operations leadership to ensure teams are prepared, compliant, and aligned with brand standards. The Area Training Manager will also support onboarding, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and employee care initiatives, while proactively mitigating operational and people-related risk.
Responsibilities
- Lead all training efforts for new restaurant openings in the New York City market, ensuring teams are fully prepared to deliver consistent hospitality and high-quality food
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine training programs for hourly team members and managers across all departments
- Partner with multi-unit Operations leaders to assess training needs, support operational readiness, and drive consistent execution across locations
- Facilitate engaging, hands-on, in-person training sessions including onboarding, skills development, leadership training, and brand standards
- Coach and mentor managers to strengthen their training capabilities and support ongoing team development
- Ensure all training materials, SOPs, and tools remain current, relevant, and aligned with company standards
- Track training completion, performance outcomes, and readiness metrics to measure effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement
- Support new market openings with structured training plans, staffing preparation, and on-site training leadership
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of food safety, operational procedures, and hospitality standards to ensure compliance across all locations
- Champion company culture and values while supporting People Team initiatives related to engagement, retention, and DEI efforts
Requirements
- 4+ years of field training experience within the hospitality or restaurant industry
- Experience working with franchise or multi-unit restaurant environments is a plus
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace (G-Suite) tools
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- High ethical standards and strong cultural awareness
