Scope & General Purpose
The Assistant General Manager supports and oversees daily restaurant operations in close partnership with the General Manager. This role requires a thoughtful balance of leadership, operational discipline, and business awareness—guiding the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional guest experiences while maintaining consistency, efficiency, and financial integrity.
The AGM must approach the restaurant with both a strategic and hands-on perspective, understanding service execution, people development, KPIs, and the impact of daily decisions on the overall business. Strong emotional intelligence, clear communication, and a people-first mindset are essential to success in this role. This is a highly visible, guest-facing position that requires the ability to analyze, interpret, and transform data into clear, strategic actions that directly contribute to the organization's financial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in overseeing all daily restaurant operations to ensure consistent, high-quality guest experiences
- Maintain service standards during all shifts, stepping in proactively to resolve guest concerns and operational challenges
- Monitor key performance indicators including sales, labor, comps, voids, and waste to inform operational decisions
- Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency
- Lead with a people-first mindset, prioritizing team development, retention, and long-term growth
- Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, including but not limited to; managing pressure effectively and leading with empathy
- Support onboarding, training, and ongoing development of front-of-house leaders and team members
- Reinforce standards, policies, and expectations through consistent communication and accountability
- Possess and maintain strong working knowledge of Florida state liquor laws and local regulations
- Collaborate with the General Manager, Chef, and ownership to execute the restaurant’s vision and goals
Job Requirements
- 3-5 years of progressive front of house management experience in full-service dining environments
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improvement
- High integrity and professionalism, with a collaborative and positive approach
- Possess a deep understanding of Florida state liquor laws and regulations
- Proven ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours, lift and transport up to 50 lbs., and work in confined or high-activity areas
Compensation & Benefits:
