Director of Finance and Accounting

Location: Seattle, Washington (On-site)

Base Salary: $160,000–$170,000


Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and highly ambitious Director of Finance with strong leadership, strategic vision, and a hands-on approach to financial operations. This individual will play a key role in leading accounting activities, ensuring financial integrity, and supporting operational success. Ideal candidates are entrepreneurial, collaborative, and focused on driving strong financial performance while maintaining a clean balance sheet and effective internal controls.


Position Summary

The Director of Finance serves as the financial business leader for the property, responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that align with overall business goals. This position ensures strong financial management and delivers accurate reporting, forecasting, and planning. The Director will oversee accounting functions, financial analysis, compliance, budgeting, cash management, and team development.


Key Responsibilities

Business & Financial Strategy

  • Lead the achievement of annual property financial goals, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive profitability and growth
  • Manage capital, cash flow, working capital, and expenses to maximize value and reduce risk
  • Maintain effective systems of internal control to ensure financial accuracy and integrity

Leadership & Planning

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the General Manager and property leadership team
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, capital plans, and monthly financial reporting
  • Educate and support department heads with financial tools to improve decision-making
  • Support revenue optimization efforts and evaluate pricing and inventory strategies

Execution of Finance Operations

  • Implement SOPs and controls to safeguard assets and enhance operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and internal standards
  • Oversee financial systems, audits, balance sheet reconciliations, tax compliance, and accurate financial statement preparation
  • Provide analysis on capital projects and ROI evaluations

Stakeholder & Owner Relations

  • Build effective relationships with ownership by understanding ROI expectations and deal structure
  • Communicate financial results and forecasts clearly and consistently
  • Ensure compliance with management contracts and reporting requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with leadership, external partners, and auditors


Qualifications

  • 4–5+ years of Director-level finance experience, ideally within hospitality or luxury environments
  • Strong background in financial reporting, cash flow management, forecasting, budgeting, and P&L oversight
  • Proven ability to evaluate risk and create financial strategies to support business performance
  • Skilled in building budgets, forecasts, and capital planning with accuracy and clarity
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required
  • CPA preferred but not required
