Position: Assistant Director of Finance

Luxury Hotel: Silicon Valley, CA

Department: Finance

Reports To: Director of Finance

Base Salary: $100,000-$120,000 DOE


Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Finance plays a key leadership role in supporting the financial infrastructure and strategic initiatives of the property. This position goes beyond traditional financial responsibilities—serving as a proactive business partner, mentor, and values-driven leader. The ideal candidate brings both analytical expertise and a collaborative spirit to drive operational excellence, ensure compliance, and support the property's broader mission rooted in wellness, sustainability, and purpose.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily finance operations to ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and local regulatory requirements
  • Lead the preparation and review of financial statements, forecasts, budgets, variance analysis, and month-end closings
  • Oversee general ledger reconciliation, account balancing, and payroll processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve financial discrepancies while recommending effective corrective actions
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Support internal and external audits and maintain audit readiness through robust financial controls
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including People Operations, Hotel Operations, and Executive Leadership to meet organizational goals
  • Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and professional development through mentorship and team engagement


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Oracle, BirchStreet) and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with payroll systems and general accounting principles
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally
  • Adaptive, flexible, and comfortable supporting a 24/7 operational environment
