Job Title: Executive Pastry Chef

Location: Montecito, CA

Salary: $120-$140K base + bonus + full benefits

Schedule: Full-time, includes weekends and holidays

Overview:

A distinguished luxury hotel group is seeking a sophisticated and visionary Executive Pastry Chef to lead pastry operations across multiple outlets within one of its 5-star resort properties. The ideal candidate will bring leadership excellence, creative artistry, and a passion for delivering unforgettable guest experiences. This role requires a balance of hands-on execution, strategic oversight, and the ability to lead a high-performing pastry team in a Forbes-level setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee pastry production across 3+ F&B outlets, including fine dining, in-room dining, and café/patisserie concepts
  • Lead the creation and execution of menus for high-end catering events, wedding buyouts, and bespoke VIP experiences
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and F&B leadership on seasonal and event-driven menu planning
  • Develop stunning wedding cakes and custom desserts with precision and creativity
  • Ensure exceptional quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met across all offerings
  • Recruit, train, and mentor pastry staff, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
  • Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Manage pastry inventory, cost controls, and production schedules to meet financial goals

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years as an Executive Pastry Chef or Pastry Sous Chef in a luxury resort or 5-star hotel
  • Proven ability to lead a team in a high-volume, multi-outlet setting
  • Strong background in custom cakes, plated desserts, and modern pastry techniques
  • Experience supporting large-scale banquets, events, and exclusive buyouts
  • Exceptional attention to detail, presentation, and guest satisfaction
  • Formal culinary/pastry education preferred
