New York City, NY
Apply for this job

An internationally acclaimed hospitality group is opening its first U.S. location in NYC’s NoMad neighborhood and is seeking a proactive and experienced People Manager to lead all human resources and people-related functions on-site. This is a unique opportunity to join a globally inspired brand at launch, with a strong emphasis on culture, guest experience, and team development.

The People Manager will serve as the primary HR leader for the U.S. team and will work closely with leadership based in the UK. This is a highly independent role best suited for someone who is resourceful, solutions-oriented, and confident making decisions with limited on-site supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own all HR and people operations for the U.S. business, including hiring, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, training, and team engagement
  • Serve as the main liaison between the NYC-based team and UK headquarters for all people-related matters
  • Partner with General Manager and UK HR leadership to ensure alignment on policies, procedures, and brand values
  • Lead recruitment efforts across FOH, BOH, and support roles with a strong focus on cultural fit and hospitality excellence
  • Implement and maintain systems for scheduling, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and HRIS
  • Guide and support managers in performance management, employee development, and conflict resolution
  • Champion a healthy, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture reflective of the brand’s global ethos
  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and health & safety regulations

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience in a people/HR leadership role within hospitality, nightlife, or experiential venues
  • Self-starter with a high level of autonomy, decision-making skills, and the ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to build trust with staff and work cross-functionally with a remote team
  • Experience with U.S. HR practices and regulations (NYC experience preferred)
  • Passion for culture-driven hospitality and team-building in dynamic, guest-focused environments
  • Comfortable reporting into a UK-based leadership team and navigating across time zones and communication styles

This is a critical role in shaping the team, culture, and people systems for a globally inspired concept entering the U.S. market for the first time.
