General Manager – New York City

Location: New York City, NY

Salary- 110-115K

Reports to: Ownership / Senior Leadership


Overview

A New York City–based hospitality group is seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to lead day-to-day operations of one of its concepts. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant performance, including guest experience, team leadership, financial results, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced NYC environment, understands how to drive the business through people and systems, and takes full ownership of results.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure consistent execution of service standards
  • Maintain an exceptional guest experience, including VIP engagement and issue resolution
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with all health and operational regulations

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop management and hourly teams
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performance culture
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance management

Financial & Business Performance

  • Own P&L performance, including labor, food, and beverage cost control
  • Analyze sales trends, labor efficiency, and operating metrics
  • Partner with senior leadership to drive revenue growth and operational improvements

Systems & Controls

  • Ensure proper use of POS systems, reporting tools, and operational controls
  • Maintain inventory management, ordering procedures, and vendor relationships
  • Uphold company policies, procedures, and brand standards

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with ownership and senior leadership to align on goals and strategy
  • Provide regular reporting on performance, staffing, and operational needs

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or senior restaurant leader in NYC
  • Strong understanding of restaurant financials and P&L management
  • Experience leading teams in a high-volume or quality-driven environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain calm, solutions-oriented, and guest-focused under pressure
  • Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
