As they continue to grow they are seeking an experienced and people-first HR Manager to lead and elevate our People & Culture function across the organization.
About the Role:
The HR Manager is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and executing all core HR functions across our restaurant group. This role will work closely with ownership and restaurant leadership to manage recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits, and team development. The ideal candidate is highly organized, knowledgeable about NYC labor law, and passionate about cultivating an inclusive, high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for all restaurant locations and management teams
- Partner with leadership to forecast staffing needs and lead full-cycle recruitment for both hourly and salaried roles
- Own onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes, ensuring consistent and compliant practices
- Manage HR compliance in accordance with federal, state, and city regulations, including wage & hour laws, NYC Paid Safe and Sick Leave, and predictive scheduling
- Oversee benefits administration, ACA compliance, workers comp, FMLA/PFL, and unemployment claims
- Coach managers on performance management, employee relations, and conflict resolution
- Support and implement programs that promote team engagement, retention, and development
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation, including I-9s, personnel files, and training certifications
- Stay current with labor laws and industry trends to recommend and implement best practices
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of HR experience, ideally within the hospitality or restaurant sector
- Strong understanding of NYC and NYS labor laws and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting multi-unit operations preferred
- Proven ability to build trust, coach managers, and drive cultural consistency across teams
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office; HRIS experience a plus
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
